have to drop the whole fuel tank?

It has no access through the bed; It's easier for me to drop the tank. It's easier for others to lift the bed.
Without a lift and a trans. jack, i think it is easier to remove the 8 bed bolts, unbolt the fill neck, unplug the taillight connector and get a couple of helpers to lift the bed and shift it rearward enough to access the pump. IF tank is empty it helps if removing IT. Either way that's best fou YOU. Search youtube and see how the average Joe does it at home.. Keep in mind i have not done this without the proper equipment so I dont really know what is best!! I do know you need to make sure the PUMP is defective! Could be another problem, just saying.
