no leaks but noise coming from front area of engine. possible it is water pump?

Remove the serp belt and spin the components by hand to see if you can duplicate the noise. Try to wiggle the water pump pulley to see if there is any movement, if movement, besides turning, is found on pulley, replace the water pump.
Also timing chain. Have a mechanic listen to it.
