2010 Volvo XC60 Recalls

Volvo is recalling certain passenger vehicles equipped with power front passenger seats because the front seat rail's detection system was manufactured incorrectly. This can cause the passenger seat to move beyond the intended maximum, which may increase the risk of injury to the passenger in a crash. Dealers will inspect and repair the rails free of charge.

Volvo is recalling 2010 XC60 models due to a curtain air bag that may have been assembled improperly during the manufacturing process. This may cause the air bag not to deploy correctly, increasing the risk of injury. Dealers will inspect the curtain air bag assembly and adjust if necessary.

A fuel line cover under the vehicle may not be properly attached. Exposed fuel lines could be damaged, increasing the risk of a fire. Dealers will inspect the fuel line cover and properly secure it as necessary. This recall is scheduled to begin by December 28, 2009. The Volvo recall number is R218.

The driver's seat side cover panel may come loose in the event of a side impact, causing the driver's seat belt not to restrain the driver as designed. Failure to properly restrain the driver would increase the driver's risk of injury in the event of a crash. Dealers will modify the inside of the driver's seat side cover panel to correct this issue. The recall is expected to begin by December 22, 2009.

For four vehicles delivered to Puerto Rico that do not have the panoramic roof installed, the front seat occupants may not be protected in a crash. Dealers replaced the headliner assembly in each vehicle prior to sale. This recall began in November 2009. The Volvo recall number is R-217.

Software for the central electronic module may not send the signal the fuel pump electronic module needs to activate the fuel pump. The driver may be able to start the engine because of residual fuel pressure, but the engine will eventually stall again. If the vehicle stalls in certain conditions, a crash could occur. Dealers will update software for the central electronic module free of charge. The recall began on September 30, 2009. The Volvo recall number is R215.
