Volkswagen Golf TDI recalls

For Models: Audi A3 TDI, Volkswagen Golf TDI, Volkswagen Jetta TDI

Engine, September 30, 2011

RepairPal Expert Overview:

On the 2.0L TDI common rail Diesel engine/clean Diesel engine, fuel injection pulses could coincide with the natural frequency of injector line #2. This resonance creates additional stress on the fuel line. Small cracks could develop in the #2 injector line, resulting in a Diesel fuel leak. A fuel leak always increases the risk of a fire. Dealers will install an improved #2 fuel injector line and install vibration dampers on all of the injector lines to correct this concern. The Volkswagen/Audi recall number is 23J9/V5.

For Models: Volkswagen GTI, Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen Golf TDI, Volkswagen Jetta

Electrical & Lights, October 31, 2007

RepairPal Expert Overview:

The caps to disable the headlight aiming screws may be installed in the incorrect positions. The cap for the horizontal aiming screw may have been installed on the vertical aiming screw. Improperly aimed headlights could cause reduced road visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will install and remove disabling caps as necessary to assure they are in their correct locations. This recall is expected to begin on October 31, 2007. The Volkswagen recall number is Q8.
