Make sure the transmission is filled with Kia-approved transmission fluid and at the correct level. Our technicians tell using incorrect transmission fluid or operating the transmission when it is low on fluid can result in internal transmission damage.

Visitor, 2005 Kia Amanti, 60,400 mi

Transmission completely failed at just over 60K miles. Tranny fluid was less than 1 qt low. Aside from experiencing the "normal" Amanti issues - that is, freakish acceleration and gutless at top end, I have had no major problems until now.
