The upper engine mount may wear prematurely. Symptoms may include a harsh feeling when the transmission is shifting and roughness when the engine is idling. Worn engine mounts should be replaced as necessary.

The car drove fine in the morning. At the end of the work day, I cranked it, it was fine for about a minute, and then the idling became progressively rougher. I thought the car would stall, but it did not. It was idling so rough that I was concerned that I would damage the car. We took it to the mechanic who diagnosed worn upper engine mounts. They were replaced, and problem fixed!
