The upper dash may crack, most commonly on vehicles in warm climates and exposed to a lot of sunlight. The common repair is to replace the upper instrument trim panel. Information on a technical service bulletin or extended warranty is not available at this time.

2007 gmc yukon, dashboard cracked top left of passenger side airbag and on right side of hump over steering wheel. I called GMC and told them it was a serious safety issue as its seems like the dashboard is going to fall into the steering column and even make the air bag not function properly. GMC told me to take it to local dearler to check if it was accurate and not normal wear and tear. GMC is replacing it FREE of charge!!! Call them up 1800 462 8782 they are really great about the situation. It seems as they do not want to issue recall; just replacing as they come up. Only bad thing is that it takes all day to replace.

Notice yesterday that my dash cracked in two places in my 2009 Yukon, left top corner of passenger airbag and right corner of hump over instrumentation panel on drivers side. My vehicle is garaged kept in in inpeckable condition. I contacted GMC 1 866 790 5700 and talked with an awesome rep who was familiar with my issue. The rep made not promise but did indicate that the issue was occuring on select years of Yukons and were being handled on a case by case basis. The rep asked that I contact my local dealer which is where I purchased my vehicle. Always had awesome service with the dealership but the individual I talked with was arrogant and appeared to have issues with his work hours that he felt he needed to share. I asked if he wanted to see my vehicle and he said not until I agree to pay for the repair was there a need. He's going to get his calculator out and call me with what he might be able to assist me with and we would go from there. I immediately returned to the GMC Rep who elevated my case and is going to talk with the Customer Saftisfaction Specialist at my local dealer. LOL - it is the same guy I already spoke with ... he is no customer saftification specialist and should get into a customer service course immediately. I am awaiting a response from the GMC rep.
