Moisture sensitive airbag system components may deteriorate in humid climate regions, causing an increase in inflator pressure which ruptures when passenger airbags are deployed. Injury can result from inflator parts striking an occupant. Dealers will replace affected airbag inflators to correct this concern. Subaru is the manufacturer of Saabs affected by this recall. Certain left side front transverse link components were produced with poor paint quality. Vehicles operated for an extensive period in "salt-belt" areas could develop excessive rust on the affected link, which could eventually break. A broken left front suspension link could affect vehicle control without prior warning, possibly resulting in a crash. Dealers will apply anti-rust material to the left front transverse link. The Subaru recall number is WWN-97.
The transmission park mechanism located inside the automatic transmission may not hold when the selector is in the "park" position. The vehicle could move/roll without warning, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the automatic transmission parking rod assembly to correct this concern.
555 vehicles with a 4-cylinder engine may have a water pump pulley with a center hole that was improperly machined and is too large. This could result in the pulley coming off of the water pump during normal vehicle operation, causing severe engine damage. Dealers will replace the water pump to correct this concern.
100 vehicles equipped with a 6 cylinder engine and aluminum wheels may have wheels with an off-center diameter. This can result in loosening of the wheel hub-nuts, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace all four wheels on these vehicles to correct this concern.
