Buick Century Problem Report

Buick Century Loss of Power Steering Due to Leaking Steering rack

(2 reports)

It is not uncommon for the power steering rack to develop a fluid leak requiring replacement of the rack assembly. Loss of power steering fluid may also cause an abnormal noise and damage to the power steering pump

.

power fluid goes down but can't find any drips in the street when it goes down about an inch or so makes a terrible grinding noise and stearing gets tighter but after adding more noise goes away and stearing is fine noticed it on a cold day acting up and has continued to get worse,, just had it checked and seems a boot down there is full of stearing fluid and thats where it leaks to and then a small amt was on a hose so I had a small leak there,, have not had it fixed yet, told it needs a new rack am going to check and see if there is a recall for this at all -
