I have about a half of a wheel of play in the steering wheel and leaking power steering fluid. And the most noticeable issue is its very hard to turn left. My bro is a certified mechanic and he diagnosed the problem as I need to replace the rack and pinion asap. It's very dangerous to drive it this way. The steering could lock up or I could lose control trying maneuver around curves. Also instructed to keep a check on fluid level until I get the problem fixed. I have the parts ordered and will be fixed by end of the week.
rack and pinion went out.
10,000 miles and one year ago I replaced rods. Now, very very hard to turn left. next, new(online) sterring rack.

My car makes loud sounds whilestarted and very difficult to turn the steering wheel even though it's fluids
hard to turn power steering wheel...replacing the pump may help and is cheaper to replace.
