STRIPPING OF THE NUTS IN THE REAR SUSPENSION COULD REDUCECLAMP LOAD ON LOWER CONTROL ARM, WHICH COULD ALLOW THE ARM TO DETACH, RESULTINGIN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND AN ACCIDENT.
The lower suspension control arms, rear springs, shackles and rear shock absorbers may suddenly detach from the vehicle due to stripped fasteners. This increases risk of a crash.
You must visit a General Motors dealership to perform recall repairs on your GMC truck or Chevrolet truck. The schedule for General Motors to initially contact known owners of affected vehicles was during November, 1990. If you did not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
