Parking Light May Not Function as Expected

Affected Cars:

Make Model Year(s)
Buick Regal 2012

Electrical & Lights, March 6, 2012

RepairPal Expert Overview

The parking lights may not turn on as expected when the headlights or parking lights are switched on.

General Motors will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning March 12, 2012. If you are experiencing problems with the operation of the parking lights, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.

Due to a software error, the parking lights do not activate when either the parking lamps or headlamps are switched on. Inadequate lighting could reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will reprogram the body control module to correct this concern. The General Motors recall number is 12048.
