The Driver's Power Seat Adjuster May Fail
Body, Interior & Misc., April 18, 2011
RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
The driver's power seat adjuster may fail. This could result in unexpected seat movement in the case of severe loading or in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury to the driver.
What Should You Do?
This should be considered a high priority recall. The driver's seat could move without warning. Please contact your Ford dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
On vehicles equipped with a power driver's seat, the seat track worm gear may fracture. This could result in unintended seat movement in the event of a crash or other case of severe loading, which may increase the risk of injury to the driver. Dealers will inspect the driver's seat track and replace it if necessary. This recall is scheduled to begin on May 2, 2011. The Ford recall number is 11C16.
