46 vehicles have been recalled due to incorrect installation of passenger side airbag propellant. Road vibration to the inflation mechanism can degrade the propellant, causing too much pressure to the airbag when activated in a crash. Injury may result from higher pressures to the airbag and from a rupturing inflator which could strike a passenger. Dealers will replace the airbag assembly free of charge.
Nissan began this recall in August 2010 and is contacting owners of the affected models. If you haven’t received notification in a timely manner, contact your dealer or Nissan directly. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call.
