Honda recalled certain 2006-2007 Civic vehicles for a mounting problem of a sealing O-ring on the rear anti-lock brake system speed sensors. If installed incorrectly, the O-ring will not seal properly, allowing contamination past it and possibly damaging the rear wheel bearings. There is potential for a rear wheel to come off the vehicle if the bearing is worn severely enough. Dealers will inspect the rear anti-lock brake system sensors for proper installation and the rear wheel bearings for damaged parts. Repairs will be made to prevent contamination entry, and to replace any damaged components.
