Buick Century QuestionsRefine by vehicle
When I drive my brothers Buick after starting engine I put it in reverse and sometimes it acts like there's a power delay because it will all the sudden get all the power it didn't get at first and then I have to put it in 1st to get going and then shift on the fly to 3rd for cruising speed and do that at every red light or near stop. If I put it in D (overdrive) it doesn't idle or cruise like it should. This happens about 70%-75% of the time when it gets drove. It also has a slow oil leak but I'm sure that's not the problem.
We keep putting batteries into this car and after few months its dead. We have gotten 4 batteries within months. We have a rebuilt alternator that i think is the problem because this our 2nd time getting it rebuilt. Can the alternator be the issue? Starter checks fine. How can i check for a parasitic drain also?
02 Buick century and damn battery keeps draining. First time it was alternator. So we got it rebuilt with lifertime warranty. Second time it drained it was the alternators diode's that were bad. Now this time I believe its the stupid rebuilt alternator. Starter is fine. Might as well buy new alternator!!!!
I don't know how to get the thermostat
I've replaced all the plugs wires coils and the icm. When you clear the code it runs perfect for about 5 minutes then it pulls it up again and starts running like garbage if anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate hearing them.
Hi, I have a 98 Buick that overheats whether driving or still. The radiator is 4-5 years old I've done the water pump and 2 thermostats in the last year. I've also flushed it and bled it properly. Also I just changed 3 fan relays and it still overheats. It's not mixing water and there doesn't seem to be any in the motor so it doesn't look like a blown gasket. I'm pretty much out of ideas as to what it could be. Any help would be appreciated!
It's a v6 and should pick up like it use to. There is no misfire. It just doesn't want to pick up like it should. It also does it on flat ground. Please help. Thank you.
someone was going to do a cooling system flush/back flush on my car, he put the TEE in the vacuum line for the breaks instead of the line coming off the firewall and put water in the hose now I have been told there is water in my engine but it is not seized up but it won't start.
