The car has been in storage for a couple years. I changed the oil, flushed the cooling system, replaced spark plugs and emptied the fuel tank and put fresh fuel in it.
What is the recommended car battery for the 07 GXP? I believe the battery that came with the Pontiac Solstice has had it's day.
In search of a good owner repair manual, user friendly for a GXP turbo engine 2.0L. Any suggestions?
Took the car in to have a check engine light diagnosed. Turbo charger boost sensor was showing as the reason. My normal mechanic does not work on turbo engines but he can order the part. All dealers are asking double the part amount so I can imagine the labor will be crazy. Does anyone know if this sensor is difficult to replace or any one locally in central Illinois they would trust to do the work?
About every 6 months or so, the check engine light comes on. Generally, it has been the #3 cylinder and has been since I've owned the car - I bought it new. It has always coded as a misfire in the #3 cylinder. At one point, a dealer rebuilt the entire engine, gave me a new computer for the car. The field rep was ready to inspect my car because the dealer could not diagnose the problem - since that point, the check engine light has always been for the #3 cylinder. However, this time, the dlr (an new dealer, since I've moved) said it was the high pressure fuel pump; has a small leak; leaking fuel into the "crank shaft". How do I know? This car has been a nightmare to maintain since I bought it. Cost to repair is over $1200; the part is $850, which I've already paid - the dealer makes you pay up front for all parts.
when i turn the car off the emergency lights go on and off akso the horn will go on and off periodically. when the engine is on it goes off. i changed the battery, before i did that the dash board would read FOB battery is low.
Can't find which fuse powers the lighter outlet
Any idea what the problem could be
Idling horrible. Check engine light came on last night. Had computer hooked up to it twice. One thing is setting off another and another. Guy says either the timing belt has slipped (which he has seen a couple times lately with ecotec engines) or the cam shaft actuator has stuck. Need approximate cost to fix one or the other.
does anyone know if it takes any special (not ordinary) tool or tools to do this? Meaning any OUT of the ordinary type tool, different from most cars.
Just bought the car. 10,500 miles on car. On trip home the temperature was staying between 205 to 207 degrees F. Is this normal?
