The heart of the brake system is the master cylinder. This is where the brake pedal ultimately connects to and distributes forced fluid to each wheel to stop of the vehicle. On some vehicles, brake fluid may leak from the master cylinder and eventually cause a warning light to come on. If left unchecked, braking operation may be compromised.

We at RepairPal have designated this a high priority recall; a brake fluid leak is a safety hazard. Please contact your Nissan dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.

The brake master cylinder forces fluid through the brake lines to each wheel and slows the vehicle. The master cylinder may have an internal seal leak, causing fluid to leak into the brake booster that it mounts up against.
