2009 Mini Cooper S Recalls

RepairPal Expert Overview on January 10, 2012

The circuit board for the auxiliary water pump may fail and overheat. As a result, it could smolder and/or catch fire.

BMW will notify owners of affected vehicles during February 2012. If a burning smell is noted from under the hood, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.

RepairPal Expert Overview on April 30, 2009

Twelve Mini Cooper vehicles were delivered with the incorrect wheel and tire size; they do not match the tire label on the door frame. This does not conform with with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard regarding tires and wheels.

We at RepairPal have designated this a medium priority recall; it is important to have the correct wheels and tires on the vehicle. Please contact your Mini dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
