A spider web can cause a restriction in the EVAP canister vent line. This can result in undue stress on the fuel tank during the vapor purge function of the EVAP system. This stress could crack the fuel tank, resulting in a leak. Any fuel leak increases the risk of a fire. Dealers will inspect and clean the vent line and install a spring to keep spiders from entering the line. This recall is expected to begin on March 25, 2011. The Mazda recall number is 6211B.

Body, Interior & Misc., February 13, 2009
RepairPal Expert Overview:
Mazda is recalling 2009 Mazda 6 models due to sticking outer door handles, which may prevent the door from latching. This may allow the door to open while the vehicle is in motion. If an occupant is not wearing a seat belt, he or she may be ejected from the vehicle, resulting in injury or death. Dealers will inspect and replace the handles free of charge.
