Recalls

On vehicles equipped with California emission systems, the protective coating on the exterior of the fuel tank may have been damaged during vehicle assembly, reducing corrosion resistance. Rusting could lead to perforation of the fuel tank, resulting in a fuel leak. Fuel leakage always increases the risk of a fire. Dealers will inspect the fuel tank and repair the coating or replace the tank as necessary. This recall is scheduled to begin on August 28, 2008. The Mazda recall number is 5008H.
