Airbag Warning Light May Illuminate Due to Faulty Crash Zone Sensor

A crack in the airbag crash zone sensor housing can allow water to enter the sensor causing illumination of the airbag warning light. As a result the airbag will not deploy as designed in certain types of frontal crashes, increasing the risk of injury to the driver and front seat passenger. This recall began during October 2004. The Mazda recall number is 2304J.
