2005 Kia Spectra Recalls
In areas where road salt is used, the fuel tank straps could rust and break. This could cause the fuel tank to fall and contact the ground. If this were to happen, a fuel leak could develop, increasing the risk of a fire.
This should be considered a high priority recall. The fuel tank could fall to the ground without warning. Please contact your Kia dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The passenger side air bag may remain active when a child seat is installed. This can allow unintended deployment of the front passenger air bag in a crash.
Kia notified owners of affected vehicles starting in October 2005. You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them.
On certain vehicles poorly manufactured suspension components could fail causing crash.
KIA will notify customers of affected vehicles beginning April 8, 2005. If you have not been contacted and think your car falls under this recall. You should contact your local dealership. It is helpful to have your VIN Vehicle Identification Number ready when doing so.
