Due to high resistance in the airbag electrical circuit, in the event of a crash, the driver's airbag may not deploy as expected.

Kia will notify owners of affected vehicles during March 2012. Some vehicles may illuminate the airbag warning light and others may not. If the airbag warning light is illuminated, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.

The shifter may move into the "Park" position when the transmission is not actually in "Park." If the vehicle is left in this condition without the parking brake engaged, the vehicle could roll away or crash, potentially injuring someone.

We at RepairPal have designated this a high priority recall. The shift cable could disengage from the shifter without warning. Please contact your Kia dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
