The 4-wheel drive transfer case can direct engine power to the rear wheels only, all four wheels, or in its neutral position, non at all. These vehicles are being recalled because the transfer case can shift into its neutral position without warning. If this were to occur, engine power would not reach any of the drive wheels and the vehicle could not move under its own power. Dealers will reprogram the final drive controller which governs the transfer case to correct this concern.

The Driver's Air Bag May Not Deploy
Electrical & Lights, June 1, 2009
RepairPal Expert Overview:
Wiring may be reversed on the steering column control module driver's air bag connector and cause the driver air bag not to deploy. If the driver's air bag does not inflate when needed, the risk of injuries to the driver is increased. Dealers will inspect the driver's air bag squib wires and replace the steering column control module. The recall began in May, 2009. The recall number is J13.
