2011 Jeep Compass Recalls
The occupant restraint control (OCR) module may malfunction and prevent deployment and proper operation of safety restraint devices such as the frontal air bags, seat belt pretensioners and side air bags in the event of an accident. This could increase risk of injury.
Recall repairs on your Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge vehicle must be performed by a Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge dealership. Chrysler will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in October, 2016. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Chrysler recall number is S61.
In the event of a crash, certain airbag components may not operate as expected.
Chrysler will begin notifying owners of the affected vehicles during July, 2013. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Chrysler recall number is N01.
Steering capability may be lost due to a missing or incorrectly installed steering column pivot rivet. Loss of steering capability increases the risk of a crash.
This should be considered a high priority recall. Steering ability could be lost without warning. Please contact your Chrysler dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
