Report: Idle Fluctuation Concern
Hyundai Veracruz Problem
Model Years Affected: 2008, 2009
An idle fluctuation may be noted, the Check Engine Light may or may not illuminate. Replacing the throttle position sensor and updating the powertrain control module (PCM) software will commonly correct this concern.

Idle fluxuation on start and "warmed up." Will lose throttle power and switch and stay in 3rd, 4th or 5th gear. Headlights now intermittant, fuel door button and windshield wipers now INOP. Not safe to drive when in this state.
I talked to Hyundai and it is a known problem that can be corrected with a new throttle position sensor and an update to the software. The part was $41 and some change. If it is sucha known problem, and is quite unsafe, why isn't there a safety recall?
