Recalls

The stop lamp switch may fail, affecting many vehicle systems including the brake lights, transmission shift interlock, electronic stability control, and the cruise control. Failure of any of these systems could increase risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the stop lamp switch to correct these issues. This recall is to begin on June 29, 2009. The Hyundai recall number is 092.

On certain vehicles, static air bad deployment testing conducted by the NHTSA using female dummies showed that a small stature adult driver not wearing a seat belt and involved in a frontal or near frontal crash, the deployment of the driver air bag may not occur. This could lead to an increased chance of injury. The dealer will replace the air bag with an upgraded unit free of charge. The Hyundai recall # is 079
