    Not only when I started the car did I heard a humming noise coming from the gas tank, it happened fairly often while driving - more during accelerating. Had the fuel pump changed, stopped most of the humming noise but still get a much lower level humming noise off & on quite often - What did I need to do now?

    There was a weird humming or whining noise for a while and the car wasn't running very well one day and it died and then would not start. I had the fuel pump and filter replaced for $600 and now there is no more noise and it is running again.
