2006 Honda Odyssey Recalls
The affected vehicles are being recalled because a fuel leak can develop from the area of the fuel pump strainer cover. Parts to permanently repair this concern are not yet available. Honda will first send owners an interim letter, followed by a second letter when the remedy parts become available. Parts are expected to be available beginning in the summer of 2014. Vehicles currently leaking fuel from the pump cover will get a replacement using the part currently available. All recalled vehicles will receive a revised cover once the part becomes available.
Use of incorrect brake fluid may cause a rubber seal in the rear of the master cylinder to become dry and leak. The leaking fluid will enter the brake booster and may not be visible externally. A loss of brake fluid can reduce braking efficiency, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the affected seal on all master cylinders, leaking or not. This recall is scheduled to begin during December of 2010. The Acura recall number is R52; the Honda Recall Number is R51.
Honda has recalled 2006 Accord, Civic, CR-V, Element, Insight, Odyssey, Pilot, Ridgeline, Acura MDX, RL, RSX, TL, TSX, and 2007 Honda Fit vehicles because the contact information for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is listed incorrectly in the owner's manual. Honda is contacting dealers and customers to provide them with a postcard containing the correct information.
