Learn more »Incorrect Passenger Airbag Deployment
RepairPal Expert Overview:
In areas were road salt is used, drivers may track the salt water solution into the vehicle. This can damage the airbag wiring under the front carpet resulting in illumination of the airbag warning light and failure of the occupant detection system (ODS) and the occupant position detection system (OPDS). As a result, in the event of a crash, the passenger side and front airbags may be deployed incorrectly, increasing the risk of injury. Dealers will inspect and replace the wire harness as required to correct this concern. The Honda recall number is Q66.
