Replacement Airbag Inflator Could Be Defective

In the event of deployment, these inflators could produce excess internal pressure and rupture, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. Dealers will inspect and replace the driver's airbag inflator as necessary. The recall is expected to begin by June 27, 2011.

If the tank heats and does not vent the contents, the tank could rupture and explode. Dealers will install the insulation to help protect the tank from uneven heating.

Honda recalled certain 2000-2002 Civic and Insight vehicles due to a low beam headlight issue. On affected models, the low beam terminal on the headlight switch wiring harness could overheat, causing the loss of low beam headlight function. Low beam head lamps that fail to operate can lead to a higher risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect the headlight switch and wiring connector for signs of heat damage. If damage is present, the dealer will replace the switch and wiring connector. If no damage is present, the dealer will replace the headlight switch and one of the terminal pins in the wiring connector.

Dealers will inspect the air cleaner box for damage, remove any broken pieces found, and replace the air cleaner box lid.
