Model Years Affected: 2002, 2003, 2004

It is common for the fuel level sensor in the fuel tank read the fuel level incorrectly. The sensor must be replaced to correct the condition. Our technicians recommend having the complete fuel pump module replaced on high mileage vehicles.

Visitor, 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 HD, 180,000 mi

My fuel guage reads empty when the tank is between 3/4 and 1/4 above or below it reads properly. because it reads fine at full and empty I have not had it fixed I watch my miles and fill up at about 300 miles every tank.
