BMW 850i Problem Report
BMW 850i Mushy Road Feel and/or Shuddering in the Steering Over Bumbs
The front thrust rod bushings—also referred to as tension strut bushings—are known to fail occasionally. The oil-filled rubber mounts weaken and crack over time, causing a mushy road feel and shuddering in the steering wheel when going over bumps.
When I go over 50 mph the steering wheel starts to shake. Someone told me I may need a wheel alighnment which is a cheeper fix. But if I get my front thrust rod bushings replaced they SHOULD do a wheel alighnment also! - LEGENDARY8
