Report: Front Brake Rotor Wear Can Cause Pulsations
Oldsmobile Silhouette Problem
Model Years Affected: 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004
Average Mileage: 119,875 mi (62,500 mi - 192,000 mi)
Front brake rotors can wear causing a pulsation felt in the brake pedal. Our technicians tell us this condition is best corrected by replacement of the front rotors and brake pads.

I changed rotors multiple times, finally putting on vented rotors thinking that this car just had an issue with warping due to heat/load/design. Then I had the rear brakes serviced and (BLUSH) it turned out that they had NOT been auto-adjusting to keep up with the pad wear. So basically THE REAR BREAKS WERE NOT HELPING SLOW THE CAR AS MUCH AS THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN. This transfered more of the job to the front than should have been allocated to them. Thus they got hotter than they should.
I am going on a year now and not feeling the pulsation coming back. I think this was the problem.
