2005 Ford Ranger Recalls

In a crash that deploys the passenger front air bag, the inflator of the air bag can rupture, causing metal debris to strike vehicle occupants. Dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator free of charge to correct the concern.

This limited regional recall is for vehicles currently registered or first sold in southern Florida, along the Gulf Coast, US Virgin Islands. Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, and Saipan. Upon deployment the passenger airbag inflator could rupture, increasing the risk of personal injury. Dealers will replace the passenger side air bag inflator to correct this concern. Note: this recall supersedes, in part, recall #14V-343 regarding the front passenger air bag inflators only. The driver's air bag inflators will continue to be addressed by that recall.

An internal fault may develop within the multi-function turn signal switch. This can affect turn signal, tail, hazard, and/or brake light operation. Non-functioning exterior lights could increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the multi-function switch to correct this concern. This recall is scheduled to begin on August 15, 2011. The Ford recall number is 11C18.
