Recalls

Chrysler has recalled certain 1994-1996 Dodge Ram 1500/2500 models equipped with Diesel engines because the throttle cable could unravel (fray) or break, which may cause a loss of throttle control. A throttle that does not return to idle may lead to unexpected acceleration. Dealers will inspect and replace the throttle cable and upper bell crank lever.

Chrysler has recalled certain 1994-1999 Dodge Ram 1500/2500 models equipped with manual transmissions, V-10 engines, and 4WD transfer cases. Under max load while climbing a steep grade in hot weather, the hydraulic clutch line may overheat and possibly rupture. This may cause the fluid to ignite, which may result in a fire. Dealers will replace the hydraulic clutch assembly.

Chrysler has recalled certain 1994-1996 Dodge Ram 1500/2500 models equipped with gasoline engines because the fuel tank mounted rollover valve may allow liquid fuel to leak onto the ground. In the presence of an ignition source, a fuel leak may result in a fire. Dealers will replace the fuel tank rollover valve with a float type rollover valve.

Chrysler has recalled certain 1995-1996 Dodge Ram 1500/2500 models equipped with Diesel engines. Due to the absence of an internal check valve, the vacuum pump may allow engine oil into the vacuum hoses. The oil may cause the hoses to deteriorate and collapse, which would reduce vacuum supply to the brake booster. This may increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will install a vacuum pump check valve and the vacuum hose connected to the vacuum pump will be replaced with a hose that is engine oil resistant.

Chrysler has recalled certain 1996 Dodge Ram 1500/2500 models because the fasteners that secure the generator cartridge fuse to the power distribution center may have an improper clamp load. This can result in arcing at the connection, which may cause a fire in the engine compartment. Dealers will tighten the generator cartridge fuse fasteners properly.
