1995 Dodge Ram 1500 recalls

Chrysler has recalled certain 1994-1996 Dodge Ram 1500/2500 models equipped with Diesel engines because the throttle cable could unravel (fray) or break, which may cause a loss of throttle control. A throttle that does not return to idle may lead to unexpected acceleration. Dealers will inspect and replace the throttle cable and upper bell crank lever.

Chrysler has recalled certain 1994-1995 Dodge Ram 1500/2500 models because the front suspension spring/shock towers can crack and eventually separate from the vehicle frame. This may damage the rear wheel brake lines and cause a loss of rear brake system pressure, which may increase stopping distance. Dealers will replace the tower on vehicles that show cracking. For others, a weld-on reinforcement will be added.

Chrysler has recalled certain 1995-1997 Dodge Ram 1500/2500 models because the air bag electronic control module (AECM) may corrode if water or road salt gets onto the floor of the vehicle. This may cause the air bag to deploy inadvertently, which may increase the risk of injury and a crash. Dealers will install an AECM that is sealed from moisture intrusion.

Chrysler has recalled certain 1994-1997 Dodge Ram 1500/2500 models because under certain high load conditions, the transmission fluid temperature can exceed the melting point of the material used in the connector. If this happens, fluid may spray onto the exhaust manifold, which can cause a fire. Dealers will replace the high temperature side of the transmission fluid cooler line connector fittings with connectors that incorporate a stainless steel retainer.

Chrysler has recalled certain 1994-1995 Dodge Ram 1500/2500 models because the lower steering shaft may separate from the upper steering shaft. This can cause a loss of vehicle control, which can increase the risk of a crash. If the plastic pins and metal clip are broken, dealers will add a restraining sleeve to the intermediate steering shaft in order to limit the motion of the axial steering column shaft.
