The drive shaft may break while driving. If this were to occur, the vehicle could no longer move under its own power. Additionally, the impact at the transfer case if the drive shaft were to break could cause the airbags to deploy.

Chrysler will begin notifying owners of affected vehicles during May 2013. If you notice any abnormal noise from or vibration from under the vehicle, or if you don't receive recall notification after the notification date, please contact your dealer. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Chrysler recall number is N10.

The parking brake mechanism is made up of a series of brake components that secure the rear wheels when the parking brake is engaged. A portion of the parking brake lever, called the clutch drum, may not allow the vehicle to remain secured. This means the vehicle may roll unexpectedly, which is a safety issue.

We at RepairPal have designated this a medium priority recall; this would change to high if any problems are noted with the parking brake system. Please contact your Chrysler, Jeep, or Dodge dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
