2012 Dodge Journey Recalls
The anti-lock brake system and electronic stability control system may stop working due to water intrusion damaging the control module. Dealers will seal the system wiring harness to prevent water from entering it and will replace the related module and repair related wiring harnesses as necessary free of charge to resolve the concern.
A cover that mounts to the engine may become detached and fall on the exhaust manifold, resulting in a fire hazard. Dealers will install an improved mounting system for the engine cover free of charge to resolve the concern.
Certain vehicles were assembled with contaminated brake fluid and may experience a degradation of the sealing components within the brake system. This could lead to a loss of braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash. To address this problem, dealers will replace all of the brake components that come in contact with the brake fluid.
667 vehicles equipped with a 3.6L engine are being recalled because a connecting rod bearing can fail due to debris inside the engine block. Connecting rod failure may lead to engine seizure, which can increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the engine to correct this concern. The Chrysler recall number is L33.
