Problem Description and Possible Solution
Prior to replacing the automatic transmission fluid (to improve shift quality), make sure that the transmission fluid level is correct. Also, make sure the computer that controls the transmission has the most up-to-date adaptive programming information. When servicing these transmissions be sure to use fluid approved by Hyundai.

I notice in the last month my 2006 tucson has issue's shifting. When I slow up in traffic and Then start to accecerty the transmission get stuck in 2nd gear. Then after a few seconds it will shift hard in to 3rd. It seem to sit in 2nd and 3rd gear for a few second before it decided to shift up. It doesn't happen all the time. What could be causing the this issue?
My tucson, that I bought new, is randomly shifting into neutral while I'm driving. It's happening about 1x/week now, and service dept was able to duplicate issue on the first drive. I was almost in an accident merging onto the interstate, and they refuse to replace the transmission after they said it needed to be replaced. Service has had my car for over 3 weeks, and just reset the computer. They also will not guarantee this fix past my 100,000 mile warranty, so i reported a claim with corporate, who is also unwilling to help. I work in the automotive industry, and i will never purchase or recommend Hyundai after the way this incident has been handled.
