The air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) housing may fracture, allowing water to enter it. This can cause a malfunction of the module, and as a result, the vehicle's air bags may not properly deploy in an accident. Dealers will adjust the position of the mounting stud for the module and replace the SDM free of charge to resolve the concern.

The ignition key cylinder may bind, resulting in the key sticking in the "start" position inadvertently. This can result in the key snapping back unexpectedly into the "accessory" position, and cause vehicle stalling and loss of safety features. Dealers will replace the ignition lock housing free of charge to resolve the concern.

The ignition switch actuator can bind causing the ignition switch to stick in the "start" position. If this were to occur the actuator can unexpectedly release, cause the ignition switch to snap back into the "Accessory" position. This would cause the engine to turn off with an associated loss of brake and steering power assist. If these conditions were to lead to a crash the airbags may not deploy as expected. Dealers will inspect and replace the ignition lock housing as necessary to correct this concern.

Certain trucks are being recalled because the rear axle shaft may not have been properly heat treated prior to vehicle assembly and could fail while driving. If this were to occur a rear wheel could separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect and replace the affected axles to correct this concern.
