2010 Chevrolet Malibu Recalls
An electrical connection problem at the body control module can result in various concerns related to application of the brake pedal.
1) Exterior brake lights not working as expected
2) Difficulty disengaging the cruise control
3) Moving the shifter out of park without pushing the brake pedal
4) Disabling of the traction control, electronic stability control, and braking assist systems
General Motors has not yet released a notification schedule for this recall. If you don't receive notification in a timely fashion and believe you should have, please contact your General Motors dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The General Motors recall number is 13036.
Vehicles equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission are being recalled because the indicated gear position of the shift lever may not match the actual gear.
As of this writing, General Motors has not yet released a notification schedule for this recall. If you are experiencing problems with the transmission shift lever, the vehicle rolling while in "Park," or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
