On vehicles equipped with the "police" option package, one or both of the front lower control arms may fracture. A broken control arm can result in the loss of control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace both front lower control arms to correct this concern. RepairPal Expert Overview:
General Motors is recalling 2009–2010 Chevrolet Impala models because the webbing on the front safety belt may not have been properly secured to the lap belt anchor pretensioner. This may cause the seat belt to function incorrectly and not restrain the occupant during a crash, which increases the risk of injury. Dealers will inspect the belts and reinstall the anchors, if necessary, free of charge.
