At 68,000 miles, the car is in great shape,.otherwise.
2001 Lexus RX300 17,500 mi,
got this checked out because of the light, and they told me it was a bad sensor that has no effect on how the car runs, but was going to be several hundred dollars to replace, so I didn't get it fixed, but the only problem is that the constant check engine light could be masking another problem.

Intermittent check engine light coming on, going off. Mechanic tells me there is a failed oxygen sensor, and will be $417 to fix. I have authorized the repair. Car did not seem to be having problems whether the check engine light was on or off, but I wanted to get it fixed since the car has been stellar for these 15 years of ownership.
Car now in for 3rd time in 2 months. 1-replace gas cap seal,2-replaced gas cap seal and some kind of "accumulator" 3- calling right now to see what they have found in the last 4 days

Mechanic has recommended and changed 2 different sensor as well as repairing the exhaust pipe. This has happened over a few different visits and the repairs have totaled close to $2000. The check engine light has illuminated again and they are recommending replacement of a third sensor for another $500. This has all, occurred within 2.5 yrs and 15000 miles.
2001 Lexus RX300 239,433 mi,
We have 239,433 miles on this RX 300 2001. The only problem has been the O2 sensors crapping out. We've replaced about 8 of these over the years. Other than that its been a great car. Probably will not buy another car that requires so much effort to replace the spark plugs. Really stupid Lexus!
