The Check Engine Light may come on because a component of the oxygen sensor stops working. Replacement of the failed sensor should correct this concern.

The "Check Engine" light as well as the "Track Off" and "VSC" lights came on. The Lexus dealership told me the cause was a failed O2 sensor and recommended I replace both front sensors even though only one was faulty. Total $850.00

Intermittent check engine light coming on, going off. Mechanic tells me there is a failed oxygen sensor, and will be $417 to fix. I have authorized the repair. Car did not seem to be having problems whether the check engine light was on or off, but I wanted to get it fixed since the car has been stellar for these 15 years of ownership.

got this checked out because of the light, and they told me it was a bad sensor that has no effect on how the car runs, but was going to be several hundred dollars to replace, so I didn't get it fixed, but the only problem is that the constant check engine light could be masking another problem.

  • Visitor,

Performed 1/9/2013 "Ck engine light on,running rough (ex wife had vehicle then) Codes P1150, P1155. Air/fule sensor failed replaced sensor $319.63 (this was front sensor). 2 coil packs have failed replaced coil packs and spark plug" $561.20 Total $966.71

6/4/2014 Got vehicle in divorce. Set in drive for a while-tried to crank ponce a week. Ck engine light came on-running rough (bogging down esp on first few miles but sporadic now). Same shop put in BG44 fuel system cleaner and had me run two tanks of gas (never anything but premium since day 1). No help.

6/20/2014 Took back "several codes P1130 and P 1133 came back on, 02 rear sensor failure replaced" $322.67
"had a couple of misfire codes. may need coils later on. will need third 02 sensor"
