    Having this issue now, light came on about 2 weeks ago. Doesn't effect Performance. I was told that the imntake manifold needs to be removed and all passages need to be cleaned

    I GET VERY POOR GAS MILEAGE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON , FAILED EMISSIONS , DEALER MECHANIC SAID I NEED EGR VALVE SERVICE . WILL THIS MAKE ME GET BAD GAS MILEAGE ALONE . I DID REPLACED AIR FILTER AND NEW SPARK PLUGS

    Light came on, port was clogged, just done to my wife's 2002 on Warranty, refused to do mine on Warranty, it has been babied, oil changed every 3,000, highway miles etc. Run Premium all of the time and take great care. The gas mileage increased almost Four (4) Miles Per Gallon City and as much as Six (6) to Eight(8) on the highway. This should have been covered on warranty, Bloomington Acura did listen to me and gave me some help on the cost.

    This should be a Warranty/Recall item for every 1999 Acura RL

    same problem, EGR code at 85K, removed tube from back side of engine, cleaned out ports with drill bit (by hand) replaced tube, did not recurr - found posting on internet with pictures etc, acurazine site I think.
