RepairPal Expert Overview:

BMW is recalling 2011 X5 and X6 SAV models for failing to comply with federal safety standards on tire selection and rims. Affected models are equipped with 20-inch wheels, yet the label states the vehicles have 19-inch wheels. This can lead to incorrect tire inflation, which can affect handling and increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will mail the correct labels to the customer or install the label free of charge.

RepairPal Expert Overview:

The windshield is bonded to its framework, not only creating a watertight seal, but contributing to the structural integrity of the roof. 210 vehicles were assembled with insufficient bonding in the upper right area of the windshield. In the event of a roll over type crash, the stability of the roof could be affected, increasing the risk of injury. Dealers will remove and reinstall the windshield and re-install it with the proper bonding to correct this concern.
