2012 BMW 650i Recalls
The fuel pump mounted inside the fuel tank may have wire contacts not sufficiently crimped. This could result in a fuel leak and vehicle stalling condition. This could increase risk of a fire hazard and crash.
Recall repairs on your BMW must be performed by a BMW dealership. BMW will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in December, 2016. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local BMW dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
Vehicles equipped with an 8 or 12 cylinder engine are being recalled because the circuit board for the electric water pump can overheat. This could lead to a fire.
BMW will notify owners of affected vehicles during April, 2012. There may be no symptoms related to this recall, or you may notice a burning smell from under the hood. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
