When I start car, exhaust very loud and even while I sit idle, it rattles and has tin like sound when accelerating. It's seems to be getting worse. Checked muffler and fine. Seems to be coming from right side. Can't see any holes when a couple heat plates off. But it's so loud, it's embarrassing.

Run flats give a harsh ride, cost 50% more than regular tires, and wear out quickly. Hitting a pot hole or bump results in an excessive jolt that can knock drinks out of the dash mounted cup holders. What effect,if any, will going to regular tires have on tire pressure monitors and handling characteristics?

and idrive are dead. Blank. Usually comes to life when the car cools down, but lately has been happening for a longer period of time and goes on-off several times.

when i turn car off then restart the car the problem is gone for a short period of time but later returns. I also noticed that a flap inside the tail pipe on drivers side is closed preventing fumes from escaping. when this flap is open the car seems to be ok. I have read a lot about emission problems online but nothing about this flap inside of tail pipe. I don't know how this exhaust systom operates or if this flap even has anything to do with problem I am having.

When this happened the car lost power. The image of the engine was followed by the check engine light on. When I looked this up in the owners manul it said if the image is half shaded in yellowish/orange color, it means that the car is operating at minimum power. could you tell me what are the possibilities why this is happening?

It's my first BMW and I love it! Bought used a year ago. Car is in good shape with 40,000 miles. I'll put 20-25K on it every year. Can anyone give me an estimate of average repair costs for the next 2-3 years?

I switched from run flat tires to Continenteal Conti Extreme Contact DWS and the back tires wear out in less than 6,000 miles. I put on another set of the same tires and in 3,000 miles the back tires are hald worn. Is it the car or the tires. I do 98% of my driving on the highway and do not drive crazy. The car is an automatic. Love the car but can not keep replacing tires every two months. The tires are rated for 50,000 miles and Continenteal did nothing about it. This leads me to believe BMW design is a problem because my 2003 330 Xi BMW never had tire wear problems. The car has 43,000 miles on it and will soon be out of warranty. What are my options and do you know what the problem is?
