Air bag light stays on. No accidents or any reason for the light to be on. Received code b1389 for drivers side airbag malfunction. Not sure yet if its the track position sensor or the adu or both yet. There is a tsb but no recall. It seems like Kia doesn't recall anything.
My passenger front seat air bag light is on. I have the code from my auto mechanic's diagnostic test and KIA
wants to charge me $150.00 to have a new diagnostic test.
I don't feel I should have to pay for this as I already had it tested and want KIA to replace or repair it to keep us safe.
air bag light on when wife sit on seat , have been waitin almost 3 months for dealer to get instructions from home office thinking about giving a letter dated when I reported problem to my lawyer, dealer said good luck collecting if an accident did happen., I guess they thought I would forget it
Took my Sorento to local KIA dealer to check the A/C and replace gasket in the engine cover. Replace gasket and cleaned the A/C filter. So far Ok, but when we pick up the car the airbag light is on and will not go off. Per the dealer there is a defect in the passenger seat sensor, they think and my full coverage warranty does not cover airbag problem. The cost to replace the passenger seat sensor $2,500.00; to be paid before they order the part.
Strange never had the airbag light come on, till they had to go behind the glove compartment to clean the A/C filter, which is under the passenger airbag. Guess this the last time I buy a KIA.
air bag light came on yesterday. battery had gone dead from old age and had it replaced. light still on and have tried all the quick fixes on the net but none of them worked. last time I had it at the dealer it cost over $3000.00 dollars to replace the ecu. the old car isn't even worth that much anymore. thnking about trading it off but I would probably have to pay them to take it
Kia is a joke. They said some liquid was spilled on my passenger seat and it cause the sensor to go bad. There is (rust ) they said and it's 1200 to fix and it's not covered under warranty. After reading all these problems, I am now convinced it's just a faulty sensor. People deep clean their seats all the time. I have no recollection of massive amounts of anything being spilled. I was charged 110 for the diagnostic that's unrefundabe. Kia of riverside as well as the kia product is a joke. I've had this car 3 years, only 40k miles on it and I've had rear hatch shock go out, battery out, ignition switch go out and now air bag light. Also, when I had the ignition switch go out I had to get it towed to local kia dealer (was in Huntington Beach at time) and I had to pay 300 for a rental for the week. I talked to multiple people from kia, including corporate, and Noone would say I should be refunded my car rental fee for the week, then though the ignition switch was covered under warranty. I will never buy another kia, and deter anyone I know from buying one.
The airbag Indicator has been on for several months now. My husband called the Kia dealer and they said it'll be $100 + to diagnose the issue and if it's what he presumes the problem to be it'll be around $500 to fix. I haven't been using my Sorento because I feel it's too dangerous to take a risk on one of the airbags deploying on it's own while I'm driving or not deploying if I get into an accident.
The light started on since last week all of sudden (no accident whatsoever). The dealer said the warranty for airbag is up to 60,000 miles, so I have to pay $95 for diagnostics. Well, I will go to local mechanics to see what the error code is.
